Impact

  • Formalized channels for civil society to build relationships with the Government through sustainable participative mechanisms.
  • Stronger relationships between FyA and the community, built on local development initiatives and civil networks.
  • An informed and empowered community in issues of public educational interest.

Background Information

The IFFyA has decided to launch an international campaign throughout Latin America to promote social pacts for education. The goal of the campaign is to bring together governments, NGOs, universities, corporations and civil society in general, in order to sign social pacts that enhance quality of education as a way to eliminate poverty and inequality.

The “Public Action Program”(PAP) has been designed to create awareness in the public opinion and influence public policy to transform education in order to eliminate poverty and face successfully the new social realities of globalization and technological change.

The program seeks to mobilize public opinion in favor of education and to promote academic research about public policies related to the field. It also seeks to enhance the capabilities of Fe y Alegría in the negotiations with governments and other organizations of the civil society.

Project Description

The main goal of this project is to promote and generate social platforms and dialogues between civil society and the Venezuelan government that lead to inclusive and participative public educational policies. The final goal is to seal an agreement, by means of a signed document, among key stakeholders in the educational arena, government and civil society that lead to a collective action to transform education.
